Sexy Summer Glossybox - June

Hi guys :)
I wasn’t going to do a review of June’s Glossybox but as I received both Glossybox and She Said Beauty Box this month I thought it might be good to review both so that people could compare the two.  I decided to cancel my subscription to Glossybox as I wasn’t overly impressed with the products I was getting and I have to say this month has only confirmed that I made the right choice.
So here’s what was inside....

Glossybox Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush

I really don’t like this brush for quite a few reasons – firstly I agree with a lot of other people out there in that I don’t think it is necessary to make the brushes from animal hair and it does put me off using this brush quite a bit. Also, I think it is a bit stingy of Glossybox to include it as one of their five products; I received a ‘bonus’ product as part of my She Said box and think it would have been good if Glossybox had done the same with this brush. Finally, I just don’t think I’ll get much use out of this brush as I prefer my other brushes so much more.
Yves Rocher France Mini Mascara

I absolutely love Lancome Hypnose Drama and I find it is quite difficult for any other mascara to compete - I just always end up going back to the same one. However, I did like the Yves Rocher mascara and thought it made my lashes look full whilst also making them appear longer.
BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer

I really like this bronzer and think this is my favourite product in the June box. I would be careful how much I use as with having fairly pale skin, I think it could make me look slightly orange if I use too much. However, it is definitely a product which will be coming with me on my holiday for when I get a bit more of a tan.
Agent Provocateur Perfume Samples

More perfume samples were sent my way this month and I have to say I don’t really like any of these three by Agent Provocateur. Out of the three my favourite is the Agent Provocateur L’Agent and my least favourite is the one simply called Agent Provocateur. However, I certainly won’t be dashing out to buy any of them in a hurry.
Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Starter Kit

I have heard quite a bit about Dermablend so I am happy to try it out and see how I get on. I’ll probably have to mix a colour up as I don’t think any of the shades provided will match my skin tone but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Overall I am just not that impressed with this month’s Glossybox. It may be because I was so happy with all the items that were in the June She Said box and they were all products which I would use. Therefore, in comparison the Glossybox just didn’t reach the same level for me. I think I would have liked it more if I have gotten some of the other products available, such as the HD Brows Precision Tweezers which I would have really liked to try out. Out of the two boxes, I felt that I got much better value for money with the She Said box as it included three full sized products as well as a bonus product, which I think is a great little added extra.
I’d love to hear what you guys thought of this month’s Glossybox and She Said Beauty Box :) Which did you guys prefer? Did you like the products included in the Glossybox this time?
Thanks for reading,

She Said...

Hi guys!
I know people are getting a bit fed up of reading about the different beauty boxes but I thought I would just write a quick post as I received my first She Said Beauty Box today and I was so impressed with it. I have just cancelled my subscription to Glossybox as I wasn’t overly happy with the types of products that I was getting and so I decided to give one of the other beauty boxes a try. I had heard a lot about She Said Beauty and they had an offer on for 60% off their six month subscription over the Jubilee weekend so I signed up :)
So these are the products included this time.....
St Tropez Perfect Legs Spray

When I first opened the box, my eye was immediately drawn to this product as I love St Tropez and I am always looking to try new products from their range. I’m looking forward to trying this self tan out and I think it is my favourite item that I received. There is also a code for 20% off at st-tropez.com so I will more than likely be investing in some more of their products :)
Mischa Barton Whipped Shea Body Butter: Lemon Zest

Another full sized product, the Mischa Barton body butter smells absolutely delicious and feels so nice and refreshing when you put it on. My skin was left feeling smooth and hydrated after use and this is definitely a product that I would consider purchasing again as I love it so much!
Lets Go Lashes –Temptress

I received false lashes in my last Glossybox but these ones are so much more my style than the Eldora diamonte ones. I will definitely get some use out of these on nights out so this is another great product for me.
Elemis Indulgent Bath Elixir
I have heard a lot of good things about Elemis but have never tried out any of their products myself so I was again happy to see this bath soak in the June box. I can’t quite put my finger on what it smells like but it is definitely a nice fragrance and quite relaxing so it will be perfect for using in a nice hot bath.
Yardly London Royal Diamond Perfume

As you all know by now I am not a big fan of perfume samples in beauty boxes and feel it is a bit of a cop out but as all the other products are so good I didn’t mind too much. This perfume is quite floral and fruity at the same time if that’s possible and I quite like the scent overall. However, I don’t think it’s one that I would be rushing out to buy in a hurry.
Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream

This was a bonus product which I think is a really nice added touch to the She Said box. I have been looking for something similar to this to take on holiday so I am happy to give this one a go and see if it’s one I would think about purchasing.
Overall I was really impressed with the June She Said Beauty Box and liked it more than any of the three Glossyboxes I have received. There were three full sized products included as well as a bonus item so I definitely feel like it was worth the money, especially with the discount I got.
What did you guys think of the June She Said Beauty Box? Do you prefer it to Glossybox?
Thanks for reading :)

The Debenhams Fashion Show

Hi everyone!
It feels like I have not blogged in ages but it has actually only been a week or two. I have been ill with a throat infection so haven’t been able to write any posts but hopefully I will be able to get back on track again now I’m better :)
Before I was ill I was asked to model in a fashion show at my nearest Debenhams as they have just renovated and modernised the entire store and were having a launch to celebrate. I was a bit reluctant at first as I’m not one for being centre of attention and I just couldn’t see myself strutting down a catwalk. However, after being bribed with a goody bag and the ability to help choose my outfits, I finally agreed and I have to say I quite enjoyed it in the end!
Me getting my makeup done
I arrived at the store a couple of hours before the show to get my hair and makeup done and to have a quick run through the proceedings. Firstly, I was taken over to get my hair done and was slightly worried when they told me they were going to make it into a huge beehive up do, as it’s just not a style which I have really worn before. I also didn’t have a mirror so couldn’t see what the hairdresser was doing and the confused looks from passersby only added to my nerves. However, the finished look was really nice and although it was a lot more bouffant than I normally go for, I had a lot of compliments from people throughout the night. Next it was time for makeup and I was pleased when I was ushered over to the Dior counter to have my makeup done by the lovely assistant there who did a fantastic job of making me look catwalk ready!
My Mum having her makeup done on YSL
I had three looks for the show; a day outfit, a night out look and a ball outfit. For the day look I wore pale pink skinny jeans from Miss Selfridge teamed with a white embroidered top from Warehouse and a white cami underneath. The look was finished off with a pair of lilac spotty flipflops from Faith (which I couldn’t resist buying later). For the night out look I wore a blue dress from Miss Selfridge with some absolutely gorgeous gold peep toe shoes from Lipsy which I wanted to buy so badly but just couldn’t justify the £75 price tag. Finally for my black tie / ball outfit I wore a coral maxi dress from Coast with the gold Lipsy shoes.

Instead of a catwalk we all went down the escalator one by one, posed at the bottom and went back up the escalator at the other side before dashing to change into our next outfits. It was quite a challenge getting on and off the escalator in the Coast dress as I didn’t want it to get caught and the shoes were so high I was scared I was going to topple over. Thankfully though I managed to get through the show without a hitch and I ended up actually really enjoying myself.

Sophia, the Personal Shopper who organised the whole event, did a really good job of picking everyone’s outfits and all the models looked amazing. My mum loved the red and blue dresses she wore and ended up buying the blue one by Julian Macdonald. I was a bit nervous about taking part at first but actually ended up really enjoying myself and having a good laugh and I would recommend it to anyone if you get the chance to give something similar a go.

My hair from  the back
I hope you all enjoyed reading about my fashion show experience :) I have put the links below to all the items I was wearing in case you guys would like to have a look.
Have any of you taken part in a fashion show? Did you enjoy it? I’d love to hear your stories if anyone has been involved in any fashion shows of any kind :)
