Christmas! And a Happy New Year

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year! I absolutely love Christmas, the whole build up of it and spending time with family and friends and this year was no excpetion. It was lovely catching up with everyone and spending some time together :)

On Christmas day itself we spent the morning at my boyfriends parents’ house and had lunch there before heading home to cook a Christmas meal for my mum, dad and brother in the evening. Thankfully it turned out OK as I’m not the best cook in the world but my mum did cook the turkey for us so I guess we cheated quite a bit!

I was very lucky and got some amazing presents from my boyfriend, family and friends. I thought I’d share a few on my blog as I always love reading what other people got for Christmas and it gives me ideas for what to get people next year or for their birthdays :)

I wish I had taken more photos on the day looking back but I got so caught up in it all that I kind of forgot really. I need to get into the habit of taking pictures more regularly but I always forget and it’s only afterwards that I think ‘that would have made a good photo!’

My blog has been a little neglected over Christmas unfortunately as it is a particularly busy time for me at work and of course spending time with family and friends. However, I am hoping to get back on it in the New Year and write lots more posts.

Did you guys enjoy Christmas? What did you get for Christmas this year?

Glitter Gel Manicure

Hi everyone!

So I’m back in England after an amazing few days in Paris! It was absolutely magical and I had a fab time but I will do a blog post on what I got up to very soon and post some of the photos I took :)

I just wanted to do a quick post to show you guys my lovely sparkly nails which I had done today :) I decided I wanted something super glittery for Christmas so Steph who does my nails suggested this silvery glitter look.

To achieve the sparkly effect she painted my nails with a pale silver gel polish to get a nice base colour and set it under the lamp. Next I dipped each nail in to a pot of glitter and then painted the top coat over and set under the lamp.

I really love the finished effect and will definitely be having more sparkly nails in the future.

Which polishes are your favourite for Christmas? Have any of you tried a glitter gel manicure similar to the one I had?

Thanks for reading xx

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

Hi everyone :)

I’m currently sat waiting for the plumber to come and fix our boiler as we have had no hot water for two days now :( So I thought I’d catch up with some blogging while I wait!

As we are now well and truly into the cold winter months my skin has become really dry, especially my lips and hands. None of my normal lip balms have been working that well and only seem to provide a very short term fix. Then the other week a friend recommended I try Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream. This is such a cult beauty product and tons of people swear by it but I had never got round to trying it out. However, after using it for a few weeks now I am definitely hooked and can see why people love it so much.

The Eight Hour Cream is £25 for 50ml so a bit on the pricey side but you only need a tiny amount to make a huge difference so a 50ml tube should last you. This cream clears up my dry lips and hands in no time at all and leaves them feeling super soft. It can also be used on minor burns, scrapes, sunburn and abrasions so it really is a handy product to have around.

The only downside is the smell which is a bit chemical like but I got past this pretty quickly and actually don’t mind it now. It’s not a particularly glamorous product but it does the job perfectly and I just wish I had bought it sooner!

Have any of you tried the Eight Hour Cream? Which other skin care products could you not live without during the winter months?

Thanks for reading :) xx

NOTD OPI Big Red Apple and Oy Not Another Polish Joke

Hellloooo,

I decided to treat myself the other day to another gel manicure and this time I went for a bit of a festive theme seeing as we are now in December and Christmas is just round the corner :)

The red is OPI Big Red Apple and is such a gorgeous shade. The gold is OPI Oy Another Polish Joke which is just so lovely and sparkly! I think the two shades go together really nicely and are a lovely combo for the run up to Christmas.

Have you tried any of these polishes? Which are your favourite polishes for  Christmas?
Thanks for reading :) xx
