August Favoruites!

Hi guys,

I haven’t done a favourites post in a long time so I decided August is the month to get going with it again! I have tried a lot of new products this month and enjoyed using most of them but these are the ones that have made it into my top few!

Sephora Illuminating Bronzing Oil

I bought this whilst on holiday in France and it is perfect for getting a lovely shimmery glow to the skin. The only thing that puts me off it is the smell which is a mixture of that typical fake tan smell and I think coconut. It is quite strong so I tend to minimise the amount of product that I use but I just love the finish. It didn’t show up well on camera but if you’re
looking for a bronzed goddess glow then this illuminating oil is perfect.

Sephora Cotton Flower Eau de Toilette

This was another holiday purchase and it smells like fresh laundry or maybe it’s talcum powder! It is a lovely clean scent and I just wish I had bought a bigger bottle!

YSL Fusion Ink Foundation

This foundation has been so hyped up and I’m extremely glad it didn’t disappoint! I have written a full review of it here if you would like to read more about it.

Essie nail polish in No Place Like Chrome

My friend got married this weekend and I wore this polish to match my pale blue dress which had silver embellishment. This polish had kind of been forgotten about and pushed to the back of my drawer but I have rediscovered it over the last few weeks and love the silvery shade.

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Gentle Hydrating Cleanser and Toner

I made a bit of an error at the time of buying these products and picked up the ones for dry skin by mistake! Having said that I have been using them once or twice a week and they have actually made a positive difference to my skin, despite me really needing the combination one. Next time I’ll make sure I pick up the right one so that I can use it more often but I have definitely been enjoying these products.

It was a tough choice this month, probably because I’ve not written a favourites post in a while but I definitely think these are the products that I have used the most during August. Which products would be in your favourites this month? Are there any products that I should try out in September?

YSL Gloss Volupte in 3 Rose Fusion review and swatches

Hi guys,

Recently I have become a little obsessed with YSL; I loved their Fusion Ink foundation (which I have reviewed here) and I have also fallen in love with their lipsticks and lipglosses (don’t ask me how I hadn’t tried them before now!) So today I thought I would share with you one of my favourites, the Gloss Volupte lipgloss in shade number 3 Rose Fusion.

This lipgloss is bright pink shade with a strong golden shimmer to it. I was a bit wary of the shimmer to begin with as it is fairly heavy but I actually really like it, although I can see why it wouldn’t be for everyone. I love the formula as it glides onto the lips and feels so silky and soft and not in the slightest bit sticky and the heart shaped applicator means that it is so easy to apply.

As always with YSL the packaging is super luxurious and glamorous which just makes me love it all the more and feel more special when I am using it. Is there anything not to like about this gloss??

Have you tried any of the YSL lipglosses? Which is your favourite?

Bourjois Delice de Poudre Duo Bronzing Powder and Highlighter and Gold Bronzing Powder Review

Hi guys,

I was so excited when I heard that Bourjois were bringing two new products out to accompany their ever popular Delice de Poudre bronzing powder, which I absolutely love!

The first is the Gold Bronzing powder which, as the name suggests, has a lovely golden shimmer to it. I was a bit cautious of this one, worrying that it would make me look too gold and shiny as it does appear that way in the pan. However, I was pleasantly surprised as one sweep of this makes your skin look healthy and glowing and it’s not at all too much. I use the Sigma Duo Fibre brush to apply this one to help get a lighter and more natural finish.

The second is a contour set which has two chunks of the chocolaty bronzer that we all know and love and two of a shimmery highlighter. I’m not overly keen on the highlighter on its own if I’m honest. It has a pearly finish and gives a subtle glow but I tend to like something a bit more and there are other highlighters which I prefer, such as Benefit Watts Up and Topshop Crescent Moon. For that reason I have actually been swirling the bronzer and the highlighter together to give a lovely glow to my skin and make it a bit different from the original Bourjois bronzer.

Both of these products have the same gorgeous chocolate scent and are packaged in the same way with the chocolate brick effect (my boyfriend actually just walked past and said ‘ooh what’s this chocolate?!’). They are priced at just £7.99 each which I think it a bargain, especially as Bourjois was on a 3 for 2 offer at the time I bought them so I also got a lipstick for free! :)

Have you tried the new Bourjois bronzers? What did you think?
