Christmas NOTD Barry M Ruby Slippers

Hi everyone,

Today I have a festive NOTD post for you :) As Christmas is only a few days away I went to get my nails done today and chose this gorgeous sparkly red polish for over Christmas.

I have been looking for a Christmas nail varnish to wear for a while now and Barry M’s Ruby Slippers is just perfect. It has more of a matte finish which gives it a sophisticated feel and is a bit different for a glitter polish. I know it’s going to be an absolute pain to get off but I think it is worth the extra effort as I love the glam look :)

Which nail polish will you be wearing this Christmas? Have you tried Ruby Slippers?

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Colour No. 7 Lingerie Pink

Hi everyone,

I have had my eye on this lipstick for a long time now and I finally decided to treat myself when Debenhams had a 15% off YSL offer on a couple of weeks ago.

The colour is a very girly, milky pale pink shade but it doesn’t look cheap or Barbie like at all, in fact I think it looks quite sophisticated and glamourous. It doesn’t contain any shimmer or glitter which would probably cheapen it, even though I think shimmers can look fab in the right product. I have pale skin and blonde hair and the shade suits my skin tone really nicely, so for all you English roses out there, this is one for you!

The formula as always with the Rouge Volupte lipsticks is so creamy and soft and it glides onto the lips effortlessly. Staying power isn’t the most amazing I’ve come across but it is decent and I’m willing to compromise on the longevity for the creamy consistency!

Finally, I can’t mention a YSL product without commenting on the packaging but with this lipstick it is more of an added bonus than selling point. The product is amazing on its own and I would still buy it even if it came in the cheapest worst packaging ever!

Have you tried the YSL Rouge Volupte in Lingerie Pink? Which YSL lipsticks would you recommend?

My Night Time Routine

Hi everyone,

Last month I wrote about ‘My Morning Routine’ as I love to read these types of posts myself and get an insight into people's day to day lives as well as having a nosy at the products that people like to use on a daily basis. I thought I would follow this up with a ‘My Night Time Routine’ post as the nights are cold and wintery now and there’s nothing I like more than coming in from work and getting all cosy for a quiet night in.

When I get in from work the first thing I do is jump in the shower! It might sound odd but it just helps me relax and I love the fresh, clean feeling you get from having a shower; it sort of helps wash the day away! Whilst I am in the shower I will wash all my makeup off with Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Cleanser which I am just loving at the moment. There is an option for combination skin and one for oily skin but the cold weather has really dried my skin out recently so I have been using the dry skin version. If I am washing my hair I tend to use Aussie Colour Mate shampoo and conditioner and if I am staying in I will just let it dry on its own as I am trying to reduce the amount of heat I am using on it.

If I am going out somewhere I will get dressed again but if it’s just a quiet night in then I will apply some Dove Summer Glow and put on some comfy PJs and slippers.

Next it’s time for toner and as I like to match products where I can, I am using the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference toner at the moment. Again I really like this product and have rebought it a couple of times now so it must be doing something right! I follow this up by using the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum. I have had mixed thoughts about this product and you can read a full review of it here if you would like to know more. This is the same one that I have had for ages and I thought I might as well use it up but I’m not sure I would buy it again.

After a busy day at work I like to curl up in front of the TV with a cosy blanket and a yummy hot chocolate or stick a Christmas film on to help me get into the festive spirit. I think it is important to have some me time and relax in an evening when you can.

Right before going to bed I slather on some Sudocrem Skin Care Cream which is just my Holy Grail product and an absolute bargain. It works wonders on my skin and helps reduce any dry or red patches. I also get really dry lips, particularly at this time of year, so I always apply some Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream to help hydrate my lips throughout the night. I have been using the Avon pillow mist and an eye mask to help me sleep better too :)

And then that’s it for my night time routine! What do you like to do in an evening to help you relax? Which products do you like to use in your night time routine?

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx
