My Daily Makeup Routine

Hi everyone!

Although I love experimenting with my makeup and trying out new products, when I’m in a rush in the morning I just like to stick to a tried and tested routine that I know is going to last me throughout a long day at work. There are some products that I have been using on a daily basis for a while now and so I thought it was time to do an update of my daily makeup look.

Face

Firstly I apply a primer and my favourite at the moment is the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer. I have the type of skin that makeup just seems to slide off so it is essential for me to use a primer to help my makeup stay in place all day.

Next I use Esteé Lauder Double Wear foundation which has been a saviour product for me for years. Some foundations have replaced it at the top spot for a while including Nars Sheer Glow and YSL Fusion Ink but I always end up coming back to Double Wear in the end.

To cover any blemishes I like to use Esteé Lauder Double Wear concealer which is just amazing and for those pesky under eye circles I have really been liking Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer.

Powder wise I rarely stray from using Clinique Almost Makeup Powder which I must have rebought about a hundred times. I have yet to find a powder that I like as much as this one and have almost given up the search; why fix what isn’t broken?!

Cheeks

My blusher is one product that I tend to switch up on a day to day basis but one I have been reaching for a lot lately is the Benefit Box-O-Powder in Hervana. This blusher consists of four shades which swirl together to create a gorgeous girly pink glow. I have then been teaming this with a dab of Topshop Glow Stick in Play Up across the cheeks bones as well as under the brow bone and down the centre of the nose.

Eyes

Eyeliner wise I just go for a simple pencil liner along the waterline for my every day look and my favourite has got to be the Boujois Khol and Contour pencil in Ultra Black. I use Clinique Bottom Lash mascara which I thought would be a gimmick but now I can’t live without, and Benefit Roller Lash on the top lashes.

Eyebrows

Benefit Brow Zings is my go to eyebrow product applied with an angled brush to get a lovely natural finish. This product stays put all day and is so easy to use. You can read a full review of it here if you would like to know more :)

 

Lips

Lipsticks and lip glosses are the other type of products that I like to swap and change between depending on the outfit I am wearing and the mood I am in. Having said that I often get really dry lips so lip balm is a must for me every day. At the moment I really like the lip balms which I created using an at home kit from Not On The High Street.

Shopping for New York Haul!

Hi everyone,

It’s only a couple of weeks now until I head off to New York and I’m so excited! Of course I will be shopping so much when I get there but that hasn’t stopped me from buying a few new outfits to take with me! This post is a haul of what I have bought so far to take on my travels :)

1)  Oasis Maxi Cardigan (£28)

I saw this and just thought it would be a great staple to have and something I can just throw on in the evening when it’s getting a bit colder. I don’t have any longer cardigans in my wardrobe at the moment so I think this is a great addition.

2)  Vans (£47)

My boyfriend quite rightly pointed out that I don’t have many shoes (if any!) that will be comfortable for walking round in all day so I thought some new Vans would be a good option. I went for black so that they will go with more outfits and that way I will save space in my suitcase!

3)  Oasis Button Back Top (£28)

I have been looking for a pink top for ages that will go with some floral trousers that I got from River Island a while ago and I think this is the perfect one as the colour is just right.

4)  Topshop Joni Jeans (£38)

These jeans are so comfortable and I have been after some ripped jeans for a while now. I think they will look nice paired with the vest top and maxi cardigan for a more casual daytime look.

5)  Warehouse Cross Body Bag (£26)

I think this bag will be so handy and is a decent size to fit all my bits and bobs in. Again it is another space saver as you can tuck the chain inside the bag and use it as a clutch for the evening.

6)  Warehouse V Neck Satin Front Vest (£18)

Just a good basic to take with me and easy to wear and I really like the colour of this vest too.

7)  Warehouse Cut Out Detail Vest (£22)

Warehouse have some really nice things in at the moment and I loved the cut out detail of this vest top. It is also available in black and white so I might also treat myself to the other colours too as I think I will get so much wear out of them.

MAC Lipstick in Brave Review

Hi everyone,

Although I love the #bbloggers chats, they are absolutely terrible for my bank balance and just make my wish list longer and longer every time! A couple of weeks ago I was talking to some lovely bloggers about MAC lipsticks which led me onto their website and before long adding Brave to my basket.

I have had my eye on Brave for a long time now so I am happy that I eventually took the plunge about bought it. The shade is a nude pink with a hint of mauve to it and the kind of colour that I have wanted to add to my collection for quite a while. Brave has a satin finish so it is fairly matte but the added sheen means that it’s not as drying as a completely matte lipstick. It also has great staying power and lasts well through a long day at work where I only need to top it up after eating and having a drink at lunch.

This is a great every day lipstick and I love the creamy and easy to apply formula. The only slight downside for me is that I think it would suit my skin tone a bit better if it was slightly paler but over all a fab lipstick that I can see myself getting a lot of wear from.
